Why not send from a free address?

Sending a newsletter with a free address as the sender no longer works. That is not a matter of style but of technology.

What happens

The large mail providers have set a strict rule: nobody except them may send in their name. So your sending platform is not permitted to use that address.

The result

Your message is refused or lands straight in spam, however good your list and your content are.

The solution

Send from an address on your own domain, with SPF and DKIM configured. If you want replies elsewhere, use the reply-to field.

If you do not have a domain

Then that is the first investment to make. A professional address is also what separates your message from an attempted fraud in the recipient's eyes.

Check your forms

The same rule applies to emails from your contact forms. It is the same problem in a different shape.
